just store your wraps in a cool dry place.
the video below demonstrates some of the uses of beekeepers.
how to care for your wraps
if you care for the wraps properly, they can be expected to last about a year!
rule of thumb:
don’t use the wraps on any kind of heat. be sure that all food and dishes are room temperature and use cool water to wash!
how do you clean beekeepers?
- no need to wash them after every use, if they aren’t dirty, just wipe the crumbs off and reuse them!
-if soap isn’t needed, just wipe them clean with a sponge, but if needed, hand wash them with cool water and a mild soap and just hang them to air dry.
can I put my beekeepers in the dishwasher?
-we don’t recommend putting your wraps in the dishwasher. don’t use any type of heat or aggressive pressure on your wrap! the wax will melt with heat or break away with that aggressive pressure or scrubbing.
my wraps look dirty. Is there any way to get the stains out?
-the staining and creasing just adds character, we like to call it patina! we do not recommend scrubbing to get the stains out because you will risk scrubbing the wax off, and that’ll shorten the life of your wrap.
how beekeepers work
beekeepers are self adhesive, so they will stick to the container you are wrapping, or it will stick to itself when wrapping vegetables or a sandwich. just use the warmth of your hands to adhere the wrap to the food.
what are beekeepers?
-beekeepers are reusable food and treat wraps, also known as beeswax food wraps. they’re an alternative to plastic wrap and baggies.
how long do beekeepers last?
-our wraps last about a year or longer, depending on how they are taken care of, how often soap is used and whether they’re exposed to heat. only use soap as needed, if there is only crumbs, just wipe your wrap clean!
do beekeepers come in other sizes?
- we have a large variety of sizes:
small 7.5 inch hexagon
medium 10 inch hexagon
large 12 inch square
giant 12x16 inch rectangle
-we do not recommend cutting the wraps, because a larger wrap may be needed for something. we do offer a variety of sizes to fit your needs, but for example, if you ever need to wrap something medium size and only have a large wrap, just overlap the wrap over itself to make it fit. it’s always good to have a wrap that is too big rather than not big enough.
can i use beekeepers in the freezer?
-yes! they are breathable though, so we don’t recommend leaving things in the freezer with wraps for months at a time, maybe just a few weeks. any longer will raise the risk of freezer burn.
